The wife and I have wooped it up in the Big Apple 3 times in the past 5 years. The first time was on our honeymoon, the 2nd, cooking at the James Beard House and the last time was a 5-day pit stop on our way back from Parma, Italy. On that last visit we ate at Daniel. An old friend of mine and his wife dined with us. One of his former students at The New England Culinary Institute was one of the sous chefs working that night and we received VIP treatment. 13 courses, a $1300 tab and a dining memory that will stick with me till the day I die. I hope the wife and I make it back before our 10th.
Daniel! Yes, tres jolie, Derek. last time I was there after gratis apps at the bar, Danie3l gave me and my two best friends (one of whom is a dear friend of Daniel's) a tour of the kitchen during dinner hour. Divine!
I had a big birthday at the Palm Beach (Fla.) one as well, personally overseen by Daniel, our mutual friend and the chef. One of the great dining nights of my life.
Cheers - Dana

Hello Dana,
I can't wait to talk to you the next time I see you at the The Main and hear about all the other venerable food halls at which you've eaten. Ciao Bella!
